Wildflowers blooming along Acorn Creek Trail
今天到Silverthorne附近的Acorn Creek Trail賞花、健行；Acorn Creek Trail是一條位在Silverthorne北邊約10哩左右的登山步道，步道全長往返約6.6哩/10.62公里，總爬升約2 ,634尺/803公尺，是蠻具挑戰性的一條登山步道；該步道另一具吸引力的是該步道有一處蠻大的停車場，從停車場四周到登山口附近一直沿著步道延伸三、四百公尺在五月底六月初開始進入花季，花季開始該區域大片草原百花齊放，花種最多的是Lupine(羽扇豆、鲁冰花)，其他也有蠻多藍色的Larkspur和黃色的菊花屬，其他如Senecio、Prairie Smoke….不勝枚舉，此花季可延續到七月份。花季期間草原上萬紫千紅，搭配著遠方Gore Range白雪靄靄的山頭，其間夾雜著數棟牧場房舍，有如童話世界般的夢幻美麗。

開車由Golden沿I-70州際公路西行，行至Exit 205出口下交流道右轉CO-9 N/Blue River Pkwy西北行，CO-9 N行約10.5哩遇右岔路向右轉進入Ute Park Rd東行，0.4哩後遇岔路取右岔Rodeo Dr繼續直行，再行0.6哩後抵達Acorn Creek Trailhead停車場，座標39° 45' 43.7" -106° 07' 12.1"，海拔8,691呎/2,649公尺。

登山口在大停車場的東南角，從停車場到登山口四周即有盛開著為數不少的Lupine (羽扇豆、鲁冰花)；

登山口一木牌標示Wilderness Boundary 1又3/4哩，Ute Peak Trail 3又1/4哩；

沿著步道東行。

步道左右野花盛開，以Lupine居多，偶而間夾著一叢叢黃色菊花，步道右側應是私人農場，架有簡單圍籬，圍籬裡面是廣袤的草原，草原上野花盛開，萬紫千紅，此時以Lupine占大多數；草原上幾棟牧場房舍，搭配遠方Gore Range的靄靄白雪山頭，景色美極了！

Larkspur
09:45 步道行約150公尺農場草原盡頭進入小徑微下坡繼續東行，小徑兩旁Aspen林立。

09:51 小徑右側一條岔路為舊時的Acorn Creek Loop Trail，現已封閉，岔路口橫置一根木頭警示登山客勿進入，座標39° 45' 43.8" -106° 07' 00.2"，海拔8,694呎/2,650公尺；

取左直行。
過了Acorn Creek Loop Trail岔路又進入一片較為高大的Aspen成林，如在九月下旬葉子轉黃季節來走此步道也是一項不錯的選擇；

出了Aspen成林兩旁出現一片不大的矮樹叢及草原，仍是野花盛開。

09:56 步道開始下坡，坡度不大，朝著Acorn Creek下行。

09:59 由橫跨在Acorn Creek上的一座木橋度到河的北岸轉朝東北行；

步道兩旁是長滿矮樹叢及草原的小山丘，山徑在兩山丘間的凹谷朝東北爬升；

正前方東邊有點殘雪的圓禿山頭是海拔12,274呎/3,741公尺的Ute Peak；

本登山步道(Acorn Creek Trail)一直朝東北往上爬直到與 Ute Peak Trail 的交匯處終止，距此大約還有2.67哩/4.3公里；

而轉頭西望則是Gore Range的積雪山頭；

山徑兩旁山丘矮樹叢間夾雜著盛開的野花。

10:12 在此折返，座標39° 45' 54.7" -106° 06' 34.5"，海拔8,822呎/2,689公尺；今天設定目標僅是到此步道拍攝盛開的Lupine (羽扇豆、鲁冰花)，回程時預定繞道Loveland Pass 去看看雪況，本就沒打算走完全程。
回到登山口附近又花了些時間拍拍草原盛開野花美景。

11:15 返抵停車場後開車返家，回到Silverthorne後不上I-70續沿US-6東行，抵達Loveland Pass後先去Pass Lake逛逛，但因積雪尚未溶化無法走到下湖(Lower Pass Lake)，僅在上湖(Upper Pass Lake)拍拍照後返家。
